Nur Akbar Arofatullah (Akbar) is currently working at the Center for International Field Agriculture Research and Education, Ibaraki University, Japan as a researcher in the field of agricultural biotechnology. His hobby is collecting and fixing used electronic equipment that has been thrown away, giving it a 2nd chance to be reused. Currently, he lives in Ami Town, Inashiki district, Ibaraki, Japan. He interested in the dissemination of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) biology, and generic low-cost lab equipment. Now He is working on the Introduction of Open Platform Ubiquitous Environment Control System (UECS-Pi) for Greenhouse Management at Ibaraki University, and investigating the mechanism of heat shock-induced resistance on tomato plants, as well as the method for practical field application.
